Since 2009, I have been working as a professional designer and illustrator specializing in applied game design. I love utilizing the intrinsic motivation of games to address important (social) subjects that can have a positive impact on the world. However, over the past decade, I couldn't shake the dream of creating a true indie game. So now is the time: we're making it happen!
I have always been a big fan of science fiction and the 'unknown'. Even in primary school, I was constantly drawing dinosaurs, turtles, and aliens. With Upgraded Studio, I want to return to that passion. The only difference now is that I have two little boys of my own, and oh, I have to worry about a thing called marketing...

My love for games traces back to the days of Atari, igniting a fire within me to become a game maker. From tinkering with pixelated landscapes to exploring the limitless possibilities of modern virtual worlds, my journey has been fueled by an unwavering dedication to crafting unforgettable gaming adventures.
After years of self-teaching and countless late nights spent experimenting, I'm thrilled to finally be turning my childhood dream into a reality. With over 200 prototype games tucked under my belt, I've honed my craft and am now ready to take the leap, together with Maarten.

As developers, we want to caution you about the immense fun ahead. You might think, "But I want some fun!🤘" Well, hold your horses! There are more 'important' things in life than obliterating waves of aliens while strategically expanding your incredible AI defense with screen-filling explosions.
STRATEGIZE
Play as an AI mastermand and choose strategically from randomly generated upgrades.
BUILD
Expand your AI defense barrier by building awesome turrets and defensive structures.
DESTROY
Destroy waves upon waves of aggressive aliens. Study them to defeat them.
UPGRADE
Upgrade your turrets until they fill your screen with lasers and explosions.
INSTALL
Extend the functionality of your turrets by installing modules with special stats.
RESEARCH
Research interesting corners of the tech tree to effectively defend your AI capital.
